Woman charged with forcing open door, stealing phone
A Butler woman was arrested after she allegedly shoulder-charged a door and stole a cell phone.
State police Monday arrested and charged Carla S. Wolfe, 46, of Butler, with felony burglary and misdemeanor theft as well as summary charges of criminal mischief and harassment.
After her arrest, Wolfe was released on $6,000 unsecured bond.
According to charging documents, Wolfe arrived Sunday at the victim's Summit Township home and began knocking on the door. The documents said the victim asked the visitor to leave, but instead Wolfe used her shoulder to force the door open.
“Once in the residence, the defendant and victim were arguing,” said the investigating officer in the affidavit. “During the argument, Wolfe grabbed an Android cellphone belonging to the victim and left the residence.”
According to documents, police saw damage to the door jam and door lock at the victim's home. The documents also said the victim's phone was valued at $120.
Wolfe is scheduled for a preliminary hearing May 25 before District Judge Lewis Stoughton.
