3 injured in Oakland Twp. crash

Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Route 38 Tuesday evening in Oakland Township.

A man driving north in a Ford Explorer and a woman driving south in a Toyota car with a passenger collided at 911 Oneida Valley Road at 7:38 p.m., said Gary Wulff, chief of the Oneida Valley Volunteer Fire Department.

The front driver-side corners of both vehicles collided, trapping the woman driver who had to be extracted from the car, Wulff said. All three people were taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital.

Firefighters arrived to find debris from the vehicles scattered along 200 feet of the road, Wulff said.

“It looked like a pretty violent crash. Luckily, nobody was seriously hurt,” he said.

Both lanes of the road were closed for about an hour, he said.
