School shines with acts of kindness
St. Gregory School completed a kindness-focused fundraising campaign called Raise Craze.
During the fundraiser, students showed their appreciation to donors by completing acts of kindness for others.
At the end of the three-week campaign, students completed over 800 acts of kindness and far exceeded their goal by raising over $23,500 for their school.
The kids more than tripled their goal in helping raise money for much needed school supplies, including technology enhancements, classroom instructional materials, and school sanitizing and cleaning supplies.
More importantly, they raised awareness of the benefits of kindness and performing good deeds.
Among other things, students picked up litter in the community; offered free babysitting; wrote thank-you letters to veterans and first responders; wrote letters and made drawings for children in the hospital and elders in nursing homes; made blessing bags for the homeless; made desserts for Meals on Wheels; decorated pillowcases for local shelters; donated toys and clothing to local charities; and performed a concert for friends and neighbors.
Students were given opportunities to collect and deliver canned goods and toiletries to those in need.
