Choral society readies virtual show
The Beaver Valley Choral Society will rehearse for its second virtual ensemble performance, “God of Our Fathers,” to be presented in May on YouTube.
The society invites adult, collegiate and high school age singers and instrumentalists, as well as youth singers from age 8 and up to rehearse and participate.
The first of four weekly virtual choral rehearsals headed by artistic director and conductor Sharon R. Burchill, is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday on Zoom.us.
Orchestra members will have access to a prerecorded rehearsal video at a date to be determined.
Children and the BVCS Treble Youth Chorale will rehearse separately with TYC Director Deborah Silverstein beginning sometime in April.
Participants must register by March 31 on the Choral Society website, www.bvchoralsociety.org. There is a $2 fee that covers sheet music and engineering expense.
The first BVCS virtual ensemble project, “Climb Every Mountain” and “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” was produced in November 2020.
Distinguished Concerts International New York featured the video as part of DCINY’s online series, “Wonderful Choir Wednesday.” Fifty BVCS members were involved in that project.
