Farmers National promotes new chief credit officer

Farmers National Bank has promoted Timothy Shaffer to executive vice president, chief credit officer.

Shaffer joined Farmers in 2011 as vice president, commercial lending team leader. He previously served as senior vice president, chief lending officer and regional president.In his new role as chief credit officer, Shaffer will oversee the bank's lending departments, while also crafting credit-making decisions, product development, and credit quality supervision.“Tim remains an incredible asset to our executive team and has helped Farmers achieve record growth over the last few years,” said Kevin Helmick, president and CEO of Farmers. “His years of experience in commercial banking along with his reputation in the business community helped us create a model where we deliver needed capital to our local business communities while preserving our strong credit quality.”To learn more about Farmers National Bank, visit www.farmersbankgroup.com.Cranberry Township named a 2021 Banner CommunityFor the ninth consecutive year, Cranberry Township has been named a Banner Community by Allegheny County and the Allegheny League of Municipalities.Being recognized as a Banner Community indicates a commitment to professional development, prudent fiscal management, transparency, accountability, and proactive communications to engage the community.A total of 71 municipalities and five municipal authorities were recognized with the 2021 award.Township manager Dan Santoro said the award is particularly appreciated following a 2020 that saw several challenges arise due to the COVID-19 pandemic.“Our elected officials and staff have gone above and beyond to ensure we continued to offer the highest quality service possible,” Santoro said. “Being named a Banner Community shows our continued commitment to making Cranberry a great place to live, work and play. Providing such quality services is part of how we do business.”Cranberry is one of 16 municipalities to have been part of the Banner Community Program since its inception in 2013.“All of our communities have been stressed during this pandemic, and perhaps none more than local governments which have had their finances as well as their operations impacted. Yet throughout these challenges, these municipalities continue to serve the residents of their community in ways that set them apart,” said Rich Fitzgerald, Allegheny County executive.Cranberry Township is a member of the Allegheny League of Municipalities, a nonprofit organization created in the early 1960s to coordinate the needs of the area's local elected officials.In 1974, it was officially established as the Allegheny League of Municipalities to coordinate, advocate and educate the hundreds of elected officials within its member municipalities in Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania.
