Route 8 crash sends 3 to hospital
Three were taken to a hospital after two cars collided on Route 8 at about 4:25 p.m. Monday.
According to Butler Township Police, a Hyundai exited the Greater Butler Mart plaza when it struck a Stratus approaching the plaza. Both cars took front-end damage that left fluid and debris in the road, causing the southbound lane to be rerouted through the plaza.
Despite the front end of the Hyundai being partially ripped off in the crash, none of the victims were entrapped in either vehicle, said firefighters on scene.
Butler Township Volunteer Fire District, Butler City Bureau Fire and Butler Ambulance responded to the scene, alongside Butler Township police.
A tow truck arrived at the scene around 4:51 p.m. because both cars had to be towed. Fire crews cleaned up the southbound lane, allowing the road to reopen completely around 5 p.m.
