Car crash injures passenger
A passenger suffered minor injuries after a vehicle slammed into a road sign and utility pole at 1:48 a.m. Monday.
Butler Township Police said two people were traveling west on Route 422 when their vehicle hit a wet spot, causing the driver to lose control near 570 New Castle Road.
The crash sparked a fire on the pole, and the Butler Township Volunteer Fire District and West Penn Power responded to the scene alongside Butler Township Police. The car had to be towed, and the scene was cleared about 3:03 a.m., Butler Township Police said.
Police said the passenger was transported to a hospital.
