SV divers claim 5 WPIAL medals
Seneca Valley earned five medals at the WPIAL Class 3A Diving Championships held Saturday at North Allegheny High School.
On the boys side, senior Trevor Elliott placed third with a score of 396.15. Jeremiah Laslavic (fifth) and Matthew Laslavic (sixth) finished with scores of 379.05 and 371.60, respectively.
Their teammate, Sam Hersick, finished in 11th place.
In the girls event, SV junior Ashley Felitsky placed fourth with an effort of 396.25. Rylie Smith was seventh (367.85).
Mars freshman Emily Mueller has a strong foundation to build on in her scholastic career after finishing eighth (348.60).
Also making the final round were Mars' Kirsten Maybach (13th) and Butler's Maura Szebalskie (14th).
The top eight divers in both competitions received a medal.
