Members of Daisy Troop #28033 celebrated World Thinking Day on Monday by installing a “Pinwheels for Peace” display outside Mars Area Primary Center.
Troop members, including Mars Area Primary Center first-graders Bridgett Domski, Paige Vuckovich, Juliana White and Nora Wiley, and kindergartners Averie Baker and Madelyn Chiplock, as well as non-district students Brooklynn Burkovich, Norah Gehlmann and Katelyn Thompson, planted colorful pinwheels around the school's sign.
“We've been talking a lot this year about how to be good neighbors and helpers in our schools and community,” said Becca Baker, troop co-leader.
In line with this year's World Thinking Day theme, “Peacebuilding,” troop members decided to make pinwheels, emphasizing building peace within the community.
The World Association of Girl Guides & Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), along with Girl Scouts, has celebrated World Thinking Day since 1926. The annual event celebrates what it means to be a peacebuilder, an important component of the Girls Scouts global movement.
