SV wrestlers in WPIAL final
The showdown is on — again.
For the third consecutive season, Seneca Valley will face Waynesburg for the WPIAL Class 3A wrestling team championship.
The Raiders reached the finals by defeating Peters Township 60-14 in the quarterfinal round, then topping Connellville 42-24 in the semifinals Wednesday night at Seneca Valley.
Waynesburg had a bye in the first round, then rolled past North Allegheny, 51-9, in the semifinals.
The title match will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Canon-McMillan High School. Waynesburg defeated SV, 42-12, in a dual match earlier this season for the Raiders' lone defeat all year.

Butler continues to roll, sweeping 7-0 decisions from Seneca Valley Wednesday at Family Bowlaway.Rocco Rice led the Golden Tornado boys with a 212 game. He had a 519 series. Brock Hepler had a 538 series for Butler.Jason Hartenstein led all bowlers for Seneca Valley, rolling a 229 game and 604 series.On the girls side, Reegan Malis rolled a 203-551, Rachael Blose a 189-551 for Butler. Caleb Hoffman scored a pair of goals as Freeport (8-0) remained unbeaten with a 4-3 victory over North Catholic.Joe Liput added a goal and assist while Addison Stewart tallied a goal. Goalkeeper Tyler Lang stopped 32 of 35 shots in the win.
