Sunday — Police reported that multiple vehicles in the Mercer Road area were ransacked overnight Saturday into Sunday. All of the vehicles were unlocked. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-285-9600. Police remind residents to lock their vehicles and to be cautious about what property they leave in them.8:38 p.m. Dec. 21 — A vehicle driven by Sarah I. Styen, 26, of Butler struck another vehicle on Morton Avenue. Police said the other driver, Shane P. Parsell, 47, of Butler had just pulled out of Sunnyview Circle without his headlights on. No one was injured, but both vehicles had to be towed. Police cited Styen for a stop-sign violation and Parsell was cited for a lighting violation.
9:11 p.m. Thursday — Bobby E. Anderson, 36, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend at his home on Suburban Lane in Slippery Rock Township.The victim told police that Anderson punched her in the face and repeatedly kicked her in the shin, according to court documents. The woman refused medical treatment. Police also noted that the victim videotaped the suspected assault. District Judge Bill O'Donnell arraigned Anderson on charges of simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. The defendant was placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bond.5:56 p.m. Wednesday — An unknown male took items from the Dollar General store on New Castle Road in Franklin Township, and fled east on Route 422 in a yellow Ford Ranger pickup.4:49 p.m. Thursday — A vehicle owned by a 50-year-old Slippery Rock man on Pipestem Road in Cherry Township was damaged.7 p.m. Dec. 27 — Someone broke windows on vehicles owned by 17- and 22-year-old females parked in a driveway on Highland Drive in Summit Township.Noon Dec. 7 — Charges are pending against a Sarver man for allegedly using the identity of his 49-year-old ex-girlfriend to open three credit card accounts without her permission and charging $7,572 to those accounts.1:08 a.m. Dec. 26 — Rebecca N. Lipke, 26, of Butler lost control of her car on Freeport Road in Summit Township, traveled onto an embankment and hit a tree. She was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with a minor injury. The car was drivable, but was towed.
12:38 p.m. Sunday — No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Slippery Rock Township. Police said the crash occurred when a pickup truck driven by Elmer K. Enscoe, 83, of Portersville pulled into the path of a car at Route 422 and Young Road. The other driver, Chandler H. Moorhouse, 24, of Pittsburgh, swerved to avoid colliding with the truck and slid into a guardrail.
