The Butler County Parks and Recreation Department announced it is conducting Virtual Safe Sitter Babysitter's Training Classes. Classes will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 23 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 20.

These classes are designed for ages 11 to 16 and emphasize five areas: prevention, safety, responsibility, leadership and professionalism. Registration is required. The cost is $49 per participant and includes all books and materials needed for the course.

Registrations will be live starting Jan. 1. These virtual classes will take place via a Zoom Meeting. Room link and password will be sent the week of class to those who are registered. To register online, visit https://bcpr.recdesk.com to register for the class.

Players, check your tickets: a winning Pennsylvania Lottery Cash 5 ticket worth $1 million that was sold in Beaver County for the Jan. 12, 2020, drawing will soon expire.The unclaimed winning ticket was sold by Rite Aid, 925 Merchant St., Ambridge. It correctly matched all five white balls drawn, 10-25-32-36-42, to win $1 million, less applicable withholding.A prize claim must be filed with the Lottery by the end of the business day Jan. 12, 2021.The Pennsylvania Lottery encourages claimants to sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 1-800-692-7481 and file a timely claim at any of Lottery's seven area offices.Currently, all Lottery area offices are open to the public between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., by appointment only.
