Nov. 16, 1961 —Michele Pawk is a theater actor who was born in Butler on Nov. 16, 1961.The Knoch High School graduate attended Allegheny College and the College Conservatory of music and received a bachelors of fine arts in musical theater.She spent the first year after graduating working at Disney World and then made her Broadway debut in 1998 in the musical “Mail.”In 1992, Pawk started in “Crazy for You” and was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical.
She went on to perform in “Merrily We Roll Along” (1994), “Chicago” (1996), “Cabaret” (1998) and “Seussical” (2000).In 2003, Pawk won a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her roll in “Hollywood Arms.”She was also featured in “Hairspray” and “Mamma Mia!”Pawk also has television credits on “L.A. Law,” “The Golden Girls” and “Law & Order.”She has been a full-time faculty member at Wagner College in New York teaching acting, directing and film studies since 2010.
