Glade Run strives to meet changing need
Since our historic founding in Zelienople as the Orphan’s Home and Farm School in 1854 by the Rev. Dr. William Passavant, Glade Run Lutheran Services (Glade Run) has evolved to meet the changing and increasingly challenging needs of children, adults and families in our region.
Glade Run’s commitment to our mission — founded in faith and grounded in excellence, we empower individuals to experience personal wellness and growth — is evident in all program offerings. Our vision is to evolve our continuum of program offerings to meet the changing needs in education and social services, achieve positive impacts in the lives of those we serve through continuous quality initiatives, and to model our values through leadership and innovation.
Today, Glade Run serves Western Pennsylvania with effective and impactful programming in schools, homes and community-based settings. Glade Run operates St. Stephen’s Academy, our licensed private K-to-12 school in Zelienople and Utica, Pa. Students who have been unsuccessful in public school settings due to behavioral health issues and/or autism are referred to St. Stephen’s from over 60 school districts in our region.
Glade Run operates mental health services from eight program sites including: individual, group and family counseling, wellness programs, acute partial hospitalization, blended case management, psychiatric rehabilitation and intensive behavioral health services. School-based mental health programs and therapeutic classrooms place Glade Run professional therapists in dozens of public schools throughout Western Pennsylvania.
A unique offering, Glade Run Adventures, provides therapeutic equine, animal and horticulture programming for individuals and groups and features therapeutic riding lessons, equine-assisted learning, wellness and team-building sessions along with a successful summer camp designed for children in need of social skills development.
A sensory playground designed to meet the physical, sensory and socialization needs of children with autism is located on our Zelienople campus and is open for public use.
Glade Run is proud to partner with the community and to serve as a community resource and asset. Please visit our website at www.gladerun.org for program and referral contacts. For additional information, contact us at contact@gladerun.org or 724-452-4453.
