Record setter again
CJ Singleton set a course record with a time of 15 minutes, 41 seconds at White Oak Park in McKeesport to help the Butler boys cross country team to a second-place finish in the 27-team TSTCA Championships Thursday afternoon.
Sage Vavro was second overall with a time of 15:55.
The Golden Tornado girls team finished seventh.
Jennifer Cichra placed fifth overall with a time of 18:59.
Freshman Ava Brewster was 21st, coming in al 20:04.
Butler will be right back at White Oak Oct. 29 for the WPIAL Championships.
- Kenneth Bickel ran a time of 19 minutes, 18 seconds to place first and help the Slippery Rock boys to a 26-31 win over Wilmington.
Zane McClelland was third for the Rockets (8-4), coming in at 20:24.
Samantha Frazier was the top finisher for the Slippery Rock girls (2-10) with a time of 23:56, good enough for fourth place in the Rockets' 19-38 loss to Wilmington.
Slippery Rock closed its season with a 3-1 victory at home against Mercer.Kaleb Kuhn, Ethan Folmer and Liam Gallagher each scored for the Rockets (6-8-2).David Magliocca added an assist.
