Tuesday — Bruce L. Stennett, 31, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend during a domestic dispute at their home on the 200 block of Hansen Avenue. He is accused of pushing the victim and striking her in the face.Stennett was arraigned on a charge of simple assault, and he is being held in the Butler County Prison.
4:28 a.m. Thursday — A vehicle driven by Kimberly Koebler, 64, of Grove City struck a vehicle while making a right turn at New Castle and North Duffy roads. David Hoper, 49, of Butler was the other driver.No one was injured but Hopper's vehicle had to be towed.9:59 a.m. Thursday — A vehicle driven by Bille J. Bushaw, 45, of Franklin, Venango County struck another vehicle at South Benbrook Road and Greenwood Drive. Douglas Bartmad, 51, of Porterville was the other driver.No injuries were reported but Bushaw's vehicle had to be towed. She was cited for a stop sign violation and driving with an expired license.
2:45 p.m. Friday — Elizabeth E. Esposito, 31, of New Castle was seriously injured in a two-vehicle wreck in Chicora. Police said the pickup truck she was driving collided with another pickup as she made a left turn from Flick Alley onto West Slippery Rock Road.A medical helicopter flew Esposito to UPMC Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh. Her condition was not available. The other driver, Scott E. Craig, 56, of Chicora, was not injured. Both truck had to be towed.Police cited Esposito for driving without a license, driving without insurance, driving without her vehicle registration and a stop sign violation.7:12 a.m. Thursday — A car driven by Richard E. Smith, 62, of New Castle hit a deer on Route 422 east in Muddy Creek Township. Smith was not hurt but his car was towed.8:58 p.m. Wednesday —Daniel D. Bell, 35, of Meadville, Crawford County, lost control of his car and struck a guardrail on Route 422 just east of Unionville Road in Franklin Township. He was not injured.7:11 a.m. Tuesday — No injuries were reported when a sport utility vehicle driven by Kourtney M. Shoop, 30, of Freedom, Beaver County, struck a deer on Interstate 79 north in Cranberry Township. The SUV had to be towed.6:27 a.m. Tuesday — Two people were hurt in a two-vehicle crash at Route 422 east and Geibel Road in Summit Township. The collision happened when an SUV driven by Nancy M. Mills, 63, of Butler traveled into the path of a car driven by Terry M. Brown, 32, of Kittanning.Both drivers suffered apparent minor injuries. Police cited Mills for a stop sign violation.6:16 a.m. Tuesday — John C. Williams, 41, of Butler swerved his SUV to avoid a deer and struck an embankment and a mailbox before rolling onto its driver's side on Hooker Road just east of Murtland Road in Concord Township. He was not injured but his vehicle had to be towed.9:48 p.m. Oct. 4 — No one was injured when an SUV driven by a 17-year-old Butler boy veered off Caldwell Road just east of Saxonburg Road in Jefferson Township, striking and shearing off a utility pole. The pole fell down, causing the wires to fall onto a pickup driven by Steven M. Fleeger, 23, of Butler.Police did not release the name of the boy, who was cited for disregarding traffic lanes.
8:13 a.m. Thursday — No one was injured when a pickup truck driven by Heather L. Russell, 46, of Bessemer, Lawrence County struck a deer on Route 422 just west of Fox Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. Her truck had to be towed.
