11:38 a.m. Sunday — Cyrus V. Smith, 38, of Butler, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend during a domestic dispute at her Glenn Avenue apartment.The victim told police, according to charging documents, that the incident occurred after Smith showed up at her home and asked for his food stamp card. The couple subsequently got into an argument.Smith is accused of grabbing the woman and pushing her face into the couch. He also allegedly grabbed both of her arms. The victim suffered minor injuries.Smith was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and released on $15,000 unsecured bail.11:07 p.m. Sept. 15 — Joshua D. Klugh, 41, was arrested on charges stemming from a domestic dispute at his apartment on the 100 block of West Jefferson Street. He is accused of spitting at his girlfriend and pushing her to the floor.Klugh also allegedly struck the woman in the head multiple times, according to court documents. She suffered head pain and an abrasion on her left elbow, stemming from the incident.Klugh was arraigned on a charge of simple assault, and released on his own recognizance.

1:01 p.m. Saturday — A medical emergency was the apparent cause of a two-vehicle crash on Old Plank Road near McQuistion. Police said they believe that one of the drivers, Brian Griffin, 38, of Butler, suffered a medical condition and his vehicle collided with an oncoming vehicle driven by Kitzie Dietrich, 38, of Sarver.The crash caused injuries, but a police report did not identify who was injured. The road was closed for a short time and both vehicles had to be towed.1 p.m. Saturday — A shopper was injured when a sport utility vehicle struck her outside the Giant Eagle at Moraine Pointe Plaza. Sallee Ansertiz, 82, of Butler, was pushing a shopping cart toward the store when she was hit by the vehicle's front fender.Ansertiz fell backward after being struck, and her head hit the ground of the parking lot. She was taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, and later released, according to a police report.The accident occurred, police said, when the driver, Kelli J. Montgomery, 44, of Butler, got distracted and failed to see Ansertiz. Police cited Montgomery for careless driving.10:18 a.m. Friday — One person was injured when a vehicle driven by Tammy Quercio, 61, of Butler, rear-ended another vehicle on Route 68 at Campus Lane. James Martin, 56, of Parker was the other driver. Police said Martin's passenger, Michele Martin, 53, of Parker, suffered minor injuries.Quercio was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

7:59 p.m. Saturday — Two people were injured, one seriously, in a two-car crash in Summit Township. The wreck occurred when Terri J. Angiolieri, 57, of Butler, pulled out of a driveway on the 600 block of Bonniebrook Road and into the path of the other vehicle.Angiolieri suffered serious injuries, according to a police report, and the other driver, Steven A. Ball, 55, of Butler, apparently had minor injuries. Police cited Angiolieri for improperly entering or crossing a road.Saturday — Police charged an Allegheny County teenager with drugged driving stemming from a crash last month in Worth Township that left her with serious injuries. Mathilda R. Gaertner, 19, of Allison Park, was taken to Grove City Medical Center following the crash.Gaertner was traveling north on Interstate 79 when she lost control of her car. The vehicle went off the road and flipped several times, according to a police report. The car ended in the center median facing south.In addition to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, Gaertner is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, driving too fast for conditions, disregarding traffic lanes, failing to keep right and careless driving.10:48 p.m. Friday — Amy L. Scott, 44, of Butler, allegedly was caught with marijuana and other drug contraband following a traffic stop at Route 68 and Water Tower Lane in Summit Township. She is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, a rear lighting violation, and a seat belt violation.7:16 p.m. Thursday — A sport utility vehicle driven by a New Jersey woman struck a deer on Interstate 79 north in Cranberry Township. Police did not release the name of the woman who swerved her sport utility vehicle, but was unable to avoid the deer.She was not injured, according to a police report, but her vehicle sustained front-end damage. The vehicle's engine coolant also spilled onto the road.6:34 p.m. Thursday — An SUV driven by Nathan D. Hyatt, 18, of Slippery Rock, and a car driven by Cameron M. Wolfer, 20, of Mars, collided at Route 108 and Sycamore Grove in Worth Township. The car, following the collision, hit a mailbox and a utility pole. No one was injured. Police cited Hyatt for disregarding traffic lanes.
