High School Roundup: Golfers move on
Seneca Valley junior Nolan Nicklas carded a 75 to tie for fifth place at the WPIAL Class 3A boys golf semifinal, held Monday at Indiana Country Club.
In all, 18 golfers advanced to the WPIAL championship, scheduled Oct. 6 at South Hills Country Club.
Other Butler County golfers who moved on included Mars' Blake Bertolo (79) and Seneca Valley's Nolan Kummer (80).
Armstrong's Noah Oliver placed first with a 73.
Tam O' Shanter Invitational — Slippery Rock junior Jack Hadley placed second overall with a 79, helping the Rockets finish in sixth out of 17 teams.Logan Wolak added an 82 for Slippery Rock.Corry's Tyler Hasbrouck shot a 77 to win the individual title and Ellwood City won the team title with a 340.
