County sees two new deaths

Butler County saw two new deaths from COVID-19 and 18 new cases over the weekend and Monday.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported Monday that the county had a total of 25 deaths, 951 confirmed cases and 21,760 negative tests.

Surrounding counties had an increase in cases and two counties had new deaths — one in Mercer County and two in Westmoreland County.

Statewide, the number of deaths increased by 26 and the number of new cases increased by 2,623, raising the totals to 8,107 and 156,826, respectively.

The state total of new cases included increases of 1,029 from Saturday, 918 from Sunday and 676 from Monday, according to the department.

- Allegheny County has 11,725 confirmed cases, 172,494 negative tests and 355 deaths.

- Armstrong County has 429 confirmed cases, 6,893 negative tests and 18 deaths.

- Beaver County has 1,847 confirmed cases, 19,727 negative tests and 122 deaths.

- Clarion County has 102 confirmed cases, 3,255 negative tests and 3 deaths.

- Lawrence County has 461 confirmed cases, 7,644 negative tests and 23 deaths.

- Mercer County has 657 confirmed cases, 11,798 negative tests and 17 deaths.

- Venango County has 67 confirmed cases, 4,742 negative tests and one death.

- Westmoreland County has 2,112 confirmed cases, 42,552 negative tests and 55 deaths.
