Knoch tennis now 9-0

Knoch's singles players did not lose a single set Wednesday as the Knights rolled to a 5-0 girls tennis victory over North Catholic.

Knoch (9-0, 4-0) remained unbeaten on the season and hosts Ellis on Tuesday.

Mykenzie Werner had seven kills, but Knoch dropped a 3-0 decision to Armstrong. Scores were 25-18, 25-16, 25-23.Brynnae Coe scored eight service points and had 11 digs for the Knights (1-3).

Seneca Valley's girls and North Catholic's girls cross country teams captured the title in Class 3A and 2A, respectively, at last weekend's Red, White and Blue Classic at White Oak Park.The Raiders were led by Gabby Kutchma's overall finish of seventh place with a time of 19 minutes, 16.32 seconds. She was followed by teammates Abby Kreber (10th), Dylan Kirchner (11th), Bailey Royhab (15th) and Grace Graner (20th).North Catholic freshman Grace Lazzara was sixth in the 2A race with a finish of 20:01.53.Also scoring for the Trojanettes were Alaina Hicks (ninth), Tara Lucot (11th), Alex Gongas (34th) and Emma MacDonald (50th).

Kaleb Kuhn scored three goals as Slippery Rock (1-2-2) picked up its first win of the season, shuttng out Sharon, 6-0.Liam Gallagher, Hunter Berry and Gavin Siegfried also scored for the Rockets. Colton Callen had two saves in goal.Slippery Rock plays Tuesday at Greenville.

Chloe Weiland, Samantha Miller and Gabby Boden scored goals as Butler (4-0) won its fourth consecutive section game, defeating North Allegheny, 3-2.The Golden Tornado host Seneca Valley Saturday.
