The Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Co. Ambulance Division is conducting its annual subscription campaign for the 2020-21 year.
Subscriptions fees are due by Sept. 15.
Recently, the service mailed letters to residents in area of Saxonburg and Jefferson, Clinton, Winfield and a portion of Buffalo townships.
Those who did not receive a letter and want to subscribe, contact the service's secretary at 724-352-3300.
The South Butler County School District nurses have issued a video, letter and other material regarding the new school year during the coronavirus pandemic.A list of suggestions includes advice for students to bring water bottles because drinking fountains will be unavailable, and to bring tissues, lip balm and other necessities students sometimes request from the nurse's office in order to stem the spread of the virus.Items from the school nurses, including examination protocols for potential COVID-19 cases and a COVID-19 screening tool for parents, can be accessed on the district's website, southbutler.org.
Cranberry Sunrise Rotary is holding a drive-through food drive from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 19 at Gleaners Food Bank in Cranberry Township.Non-perishable food items can be delivered in a bag or box Sept. 19. A volunteer wearing a mask will be there to unload cars. There's a specific demand for pasta sauce, peanut butter, cereal and canned food.Paper products and personal hygiene items are also needed, including tissue, paper towels, toilet tissue, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo and soap.Gleaners is not permitted to accept items past expiration date.Cash donations will be accepted. Make checks payable to “Gleaners Food Bank” and mail to Gleaners Food Bank, 2535 Rochester Rd., Cranberry Twp, PA 16066.The Cranberry Sunrise Rotary club is accepting new members.
