PERRY TWP, Clarion County — The Perry Township Historical Society will have a Civil War Experiences event from 1:30 to 6 p.m. Sept. 19 to honor the more than 2,000 men with ties to the county who served in the conflict.

The event will take place in West Freedom’s Wetzel Park. The names of the dead will be read and suspected Underground Railroad locations in the county will be revealed in photographs and maps. There will also be stories and portrayals of the residents’ experiences.

The event is family orientated. A $1 donation for anyone over age 5 will be requested at the gate.
