The Karns City Area School District sent a letter Tuesday reminding students and their guardians of the school’s mask policy.

The school district said, as per the Pennsylvania Department of Education, all students, staff and visitors to Karns City Area schools will be required to wear a face covering when in the school and on the school bus.

A face covering was defined as “a covering of the nose and mouth that is secured to the head with ties, straps or loops over the ears or is wrapped around the lower face.”

The school district asked that families begin to acclimate students to prolonged mask wearing by increasing time wearing masks properly covering the nose and mouth, so that students will be more familiar with wearing a mask before the start of school.
