Zelienople receives sewer project grant

Zelienople was awarded a $325,000 Small Water & Sewer Program grant to install 1,180 feet of sewer pipes along Beaver Street and South Clay Street.

The project will address flooding during wet weather events. The total project cost is estimated at $400,000. The grant is included in more than $3 million in funding approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority for infrastructure projects in Butler, Beaver and Lawrence counties, according to state Sen. Elder Vogel, R-47th.

“These grants represent a significant investment by the state in the development and rehabilitation of water and sewer systems serving communities across my Senate district,” Vogel said. “These are essential projects that will upgrade these systems, expand service and improve the quality of life in those communities. These grants will help defray the costs of the projects and reduce the burden that otherwise would have fallen on local ratepayers.”
