5:27 p.m. Saturday — William J. Niedermeyer, 58, allegedly got into an altercation with another resident at the Green Acres Apartments. No one was injured, but police cited Niedermeyer for disorderly conduct and harassment.
Wednesday — Theresa A. Burd, 38, of Butler was charged with shoplifting two pairs of sunglasses at Dittman Eyecare on West Main Street. Police said she was captured Monday on security cameras placing the glasses, valued at $439, into a bag, and leaving the store without paying for them. She is charged with a first-degree misdemeanor count of retail theft.
6:32 p.m. Tuesday — Thomas G. Pappas, 60, of Renfrew was injured when a pickup truck rear-ended his car stopped in traffic on Route 68 just before Buttercup School Road in Connoquenessing Township. He suffered unknown injuries, but refused medical transport. Randy J. Geibel, 38, of Butler, the other driver, was cited for following too closely to another vehicle.Tuesday — An unidentified vehicle struck a post to a billboard in a hit-and-run crash on Route 422 east just west of Karnes Road in Summit Township. The vehicle appeared to have veered off the road and onto the grassy lot at J&T Mini Storage before hitting the post.The unknown driver did not report the wreck. A police report noted there was no surveillance video and no identified vehicular pieces were left behind.July 27 — Police charged Kaitlyn D. Bosko, 27, of Center Township with DUI in connection with a traffic stop earlier in the month in Butler Township. Police said she was stopped around 12:20 a.m. July 23 on New Castle Road near South Duffy Road for a traffic light violation.She was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test, which she allegedly refused. According to court documents, she also is accused of carrying her prescribed THC vaporizer cartridge with her while driving home from work, and carrying her prescribed THC paraphernalia in her purse while driving back and forth to work.Bosko is charged with DUI, driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and drugs, possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without a valid insurance card in her vehicle, and failing to stop for a red light.July 24 — Dezeray L. Angerette, 36, of Butler Township was charged with driving under the influence stemming from a June speeding stop on Mercer Road near Blossom Drive in Center Township. Police said she was clocked going 57 mph in a 35 mph zone.Angerette was eventually taken for a breath test, which allegedly showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.157 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.In addition to DUI, she is charged with driving with a suspended license-DUI related, speeding and careless driving.1 a.m. July 23 — Lisa M. Lavigne, 55, was arrested on charges she struck her father in the arm with a foot stool during a domestic dispute at their home on Pine Tract Road in Center Township. The victim, police said, had “significant bruising and lacerations to his arm.”Lavigne was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment. She is free on nonmonetary bail.State Police, Mercer5:45 p.m. July 30 — A 15-year-old boy is accused of assaulting an employee, a 53-year-old Slippery Rock man, at the George Junior Republic juvenile detention facility in Pine Township. Assault charges are pending in Mercer County juvenile court. A police report provided no other information.
