Patterson wins Eagle Amateur in playoff
Geoff Patterson edged Jeremy Plaisted on a playoff hole to win the Butler Eagle Amateur Open Sunday at Lake Arthur Golf Club.
Patterson and Plaisted each shot a 4-under 68 to force the playoff. Patterson shot par on the playoff hole, the No. 10 at Lake Arthur, to earn his first-ever championship in the event.
It was also the first-ever men's championship decided in a playoff in the 26 years of the Eagle Amateur.
Casey Morrow fired a 1-under 71 to repeat as the women's champion.
