Getting Back in the Classroom: Karns City Area School District

Education plan: Parents can chose between traditional face-to-face instruction or online learning through the Karns City Virtual Instruction Program. Classes begin Aug. 26

Chicora Elementary: Kindergarten, 60 students; first, 63; second, 57; third, 61; fourth, 58; fifth, 62; sixth, 66

Sugarcreek Elementary: Kindergarten, 21 students; first, 35; second, 38; third, 30; fourth, 40; fifth, 33; sixth, 40

Karns City Junior/Senior High: Seventh, 120 students; eighth, 112; ninth, 117; 10th, 99; 11th, 126; 12th, 79

Vo-tech usage: 122 students

Students enrolled in BC3’s College Now Program: 4

Bus company: Shriver Contracting Services

Breakfast: The district provides free breakfast to all students. The cost to buy a second breakfast $1.20

Lunch: $2.45, elementary; $2.65, high school. Lunch prices increased by 10 cents

Technology update: All students will have Chromebooks for the 2020-21 school year. The school district replaced all copiers and printers throughout the school district. Many classrooms will have new Promethean active panels for classroom instruction
