Monday — Jesse W. Coddington, 36, of Butler Township was charged with driving on drugs stemming from a crash earlier this month on Saw Mill Run Road. Police said they were called shortly after 10:30 p.m. July 1 and found the defendant and his car off the road and into an embankment.Officers noticed a suspected marijuana pipe on the front passenger side floor of the car, according to court documents. Additionally, they allegedly found numerous empty stamp bags strewn about the crash scene.Coddington was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test, which showed he had morphine and fentanyl in his system, documents said.In addition to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, he is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and reckless driving.
Wednesday — Cody A. Ehrmentrout, 27, was charged with assaulting his stepfather during a domestic dispute July 20 at the family's home on Equine Lane in Jefferson Township.The victim, who suffered bruises, large bumps and a small cut on his forehead, told police that Ehrmentrout attacked him from behind and punched him in the head multiple times. The defendant is charged with simple assault and harassment.4:05 p.m. Monday — A car driven by Dale J. Green, 51, of Butler struck a deer on Route 8 just south of Boyers Road in Mercer Township. Green was not injured, but his car had to be towed.Monday — Brandon D. Cornetti, 28, of Butler was charged with having marijuana and other contraband in connection with a traffic stop in Butler. Police said they stopped him around 8:10 p.m. July 8 at Center Avenue and Etna Street for driving during suspension.Troopers noticed multiple empty cans of beer and they smelled marijuana coming from Cornetti's car, according to court documents. Police searched the vehicle and allegedly found two baggies with suspected marijuana and two marijuana pipes. An open and partially full can of beer was also allegedly found.He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license and driving with open container of alcohol.Monday — Police charged a Lawrence County woman with having marijuana and other contraband stemming from a traffic stop this month in Butler. Virginia L. Druschel, 24, of New Wilmington was pulled over around 11:05 p.m. July 7 for having a faulty brake light.Druschel admitted that she had marijuana in the car, according to court documents. A search allegedly found the suspected marijuana and a smoking pipe in the glove box.She is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and a rear lighting violation.11:45 p.m. Sunday — A car struck a utility pole that had been knocked down from a prior crash on Brownsdale Road near Reibold Road in Forward Township. The crash damaged the car's windshield. Police did not release the name of the driver, who was not injured.3:21 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Shawna L. Kougher, 49, of Lyndora collided with a sport utility vehicle at Route 8 and Kelly Road in Clay Township. Shari L. Wiest, 58, of Butler was the other driver. No one was injured. Police cited Kougher for a stop sign violation.5:24 p.m. July 23 — A pickup truck driven by Robbi J. Leonard, 28, of Butler traveled off the road and struck a fence in the area of Route 173 and Route 8 in Brady Township. The pickup ended in a field about 50 feet off Route 8. Leonard was not injured.10:17 p.m. July 21 — Christopher T. Herczyk, 27, of Butler was injured when he lost control of his pickup truck and crashed in a field on Harris Road near Wilson Way in Summit Township. Police said he suffered a minor cut on his head. His truck had to be towed.11:31 p.m. July 20 — One person was injured when in an all-terrain vehicle being towed by another ATV rolled over on Campground Road in Mercer Township. Alexis A. Christy, 20, of Volant, Lawrence County, was taken to Grove City Medical Center with minor injuries.Christy was riding an ATV that was being towed by an ATV that Cory S. Zorbas, 29, of Harrisville was driving. Police said as Zorbas was traveling around a left curve, the other ATV began to slide and subsequently rolled over.9:08 a.m. July 18 — Linda S. Berry, 68, of Chicora was injured when the SUV she was driving struck a car at Route 8 and South Benbrook Road in Center Township. She was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with apparent minor injuries. Jonathan M. Bost, 39, of Mars was the other driver. Police cited Berry for a red light violation.7:46 p.m. July 5 — Katlyn S. Robl, 25, of Allison Park, Allegheny County, suffered unknown injuries when she lost control of her car and struck a utility pole along Stark Road east of Lardintown Road in Clinton Township. The car had to be towed. Police cited Robl for disregarding traffic lanes.
