The Tri-County Country Music Association will hold its summer picnic and an evening of music Aug. 11 at the Community Park in Barkeyville.
Picnic setup will begin at 3 p.m. with a meal slated for 4 p.m.
The shelter has electricity. State law mandates the wearing of masks.
This event is open to the public. If coming for the picnic, take a favorite picnic food to share. Table service, cold soft drinks and coffee will be available.
The music for the evening will be provided by the Shalico Family Band, playing country and oldies music.
Musicians and singers are welcome to jam.
The Butler County Parks and Recreation Department's Alameda Adult Co-ed Flag Football League is returning.This 7-on-7 adult co-ed flag football league will begin Sept. 13. Teams must be registered through the Butler County Parks and Recreation Department.Registrations can be made in person at the park office, 184 Alameda Park Road, or online at https://bcpr.recdesk.com.A maximum of 12 teams with a minimum of six teams is required. Boscov's says its stores, including the Clearview Mall store, will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.Boscov's said it has been focused on the health and safety of co-workers, customers and the communities it serves during the COVID-19 pandemic. Closing on Thanksgiving Day eliminates a highly congested shopping day and gives the day back to families, the company said.Based in Reading, Boscov's operates 48 stores in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Ohio, and is the largest family-owned department store chain in the nation.
Parking will be restricted from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday on eight streets in Butler for street cleaningThe streets are Whippo, West Boyd, East Boyd, Heim, Slagle and McGuire avenues and Short and South Cliff streets.These streets were supposed to be cleaned Thursday, but the city's street-cleaning machine was out of service.
