Grove City mayor honored
Grove City Mayor Randy Riddle was named 2020 Mayor of the Year by the Association of Mayors of the Boroughs of Pennsylvania.
Zelienople Mayor Tom Oliverio, a past winner, presented Riddle with the award at the July 20 Grove City borough council meeting.
Riddle served on Grove City’s borough council beginning in 1996 and as mayor since 2004.
He was recognized last year by Grove City College for his work to promote the borough and the college when he received the 36th annual Florence E. McKenzie Award.
Riddle was a founding member of the Grove City Revitalization Committee, which oversaw the downtown renewal project.
In 2011, Riddle established the state Association of Boroughs Junior Council program to promote youth participation in local government.
The AMBP represents more than 500 borough mayors throughout Pennsylvania.
