Freeport earned the top seed in the Butler County Area Baseball League double-elimination tournament, which begins this week.

Freeport will take on Saxonburg — a 9-6 winner over East Butler in a play-in game Sunday night at Laura Doerr Park — at 6 p.m. Tuesday. That game will be played at Laura Doerr Park as Freeport’s home field is unavailable.

Other Tuesday games are No. 5 seed Center Township at No. 4 Cranberry, No. 7 West Sunbury at No. 2 Butler Township and No. 6 Karns City at No. 3 Pine Richland.

The second round of the tourney is Thursday, including the first round of loser’s bracket games.

Other tournament dates are Saturday, July 28 and July 30. The championship game is set for Aug. 1. The winner’s bracket final will be played Saturday.

Any rained out games will be played the following day.

Butler Township is the defending league champion.
