Zelienople makes parking, street changes
The traffic study is in, and Zelienople has an answer.
At its Monday borough council meeting, Zelienople moved to erect stop signs, convert roads to one-way streets, and forbid parking in a several-block area west of Main Street.
“There were significant changes in order to try and make those intersections be a lot safer,” borough manager Don Pepe said.
While the new ordinances won’t be enforced until signage is up and roads are painted, Pepe said the borough would likely have all that in place in roughly two weeks.
The changes include stop signs on Grandview Avenue at its intersections with Jefferson Street and Green Lane as well as changing Jefferson Street into a one-way street from New Castle Street to Beaver Street, traveling south.
Additionally, parking is not allowed on Jefferson Street between New Castle and Beaver streets as well as on Green Lane between New Castle and Beaver streets.
