3 out-of-staters arrested after traffic stop in city

A traffic stop early Monday for a burned out headlight led to the arrest of three western New York residents and the discovery of about six ounces of suspected crack cocaine, Butler police said.

Charged with felony counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and conspiracy to possess with intent to deliver a controlled substance are Alexander Cash Jr., 39, Brittany L. Bindics, 29, and Thomisha J. Mack, 35, all of Buffalo, N.Y. Cash also is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, driving with a suspended license and driving with a faulty headlight.

The trio is in the Butler County Prison. Cash is being held in lieu of $100,000 bond and his co-defendants on $15,000 bond each.Cash was driving a car that Patrolman Ryan Doctor pulled over around 1:45 a.m. on the 200 block of South Main Street. The officer also smelled what he thought was marijuana coming from the vehicle, police said.The driver allegedly admitted there was marijuana in a small storage compartment under the radio. Cash and his passengers — Bindics and Mack — were asked to step out of the car, police said, and the vehicle was searched.

Police recovered the suspected marijuana where Cash said it was, according to charging documents. When the trunk was searched, police allegedly found a mesh bag containing six large clear baggies with about an ounce each of suspected crack.None of the three suspects claimed ownership of the alleged crack, police said. Online court records did not list attorneys for them.
