[naviga:h3]8 county athletes get GCC honors[/naviga:h3]

GROVE CITY — Grove City College had a school-record 87 winter and spring sports student-athletes earn placement on the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Spring 2020 Academic Honor Roll.

Eight former Butler County athletes are among those 87. Athletes must carry a 3.60 grade point average or higher to qualify.

The eight county athletes are Slippery Rock graduate Sedona Campbell (women’s basketball), Slippery Rock graduate Stephanie Croll and Butler graduate Madeline Temple (women’s golf), Seneca Valley graduate Scott Hangliter (men’s golf), Butler graduate Rachel Ledford (women’s swimming), Portersville Christian graduate Elijah White (basketball/baseball), Seneca Valley graduates Emma Lizewski (women’s track and field) and Morgan Prouty (softball).

[naviga:h3]SRU hoop standout Till turning pro[/naviga:h3]

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University men’s basketball standout Micah Till has signed a professional basketball contract with the PS Karlsruhe Lions of the Pro A League in Germany.

Till scored 1,493 points and grabbed 714 rebounds in 73 games over three seasons at SRU. He ranks fourth on the program’s career scoring list.

He is the only player in SRU history with at least 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 100 blocks, 100 steals and 100 assists.
