After a month of planning, a community Fourth of July parade spearheaded by Middlesex Township Volunteer Fire Company included about 50 vehicles Saturday afternoon. With drivers representing the fire department, local businesses and various classic vehicles, the parade toured the Middlesex Township area for about three-and-a-half hours. Participants were greeted with thank-you signs, flags and smiles from spectators, according to Melissa Bitzer, a social member of the Middlesex fire department.
