Three county farms get grant
Three farms in Butler County each received a $7,500 state Farm Viability Grants, which became available as a result of the 2019 Farm Bill.
Grants were awarded to 133 farms in 46 counties, according to a recent news release from Gov. Tom Wolf’s office.
The grants are meant to enhance the long-term vitality of Pennsylvania’s family farms.
All recipients received $7,500 and must provide $2,500 in matching funds toward the projects they intend to pursue.
The Butler farms receiving grants include Four Seasons Dairy Farm in Penn Township, Harvest Valley Farms in Middlesex Township and beef farmer Donald Bergbigler in Clearfield.
