City woman accused of trying to hit man with car

Alleged victim, 2 boys facing charges as well

A woman was arrested after Butler police said she tried to hit a man several times with a car during an altercation Monday night on East North Street.

A youth who was in the car also is accused of pointing a BB gun at the man and threatening to fire it at him during the incident around 8:30 p.m.

But the suspected victim also was arrested after he squared off with one of the officers when police attempted to take him into custody for public intoxication and place him in handcuffs. Police said that when they had to take him to the ground, an officer suffered minor injuries, including minor bumps and bruises.

District Judge Kevin O'Donnell arraigned Shannon L. Coleman, 19, of Butler, on a felony charge of aggravated assault and misdemeanor charges of terroristic threats and conspiracy to commit terroristic threats.

She was placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bond following arraignment.

Additionally, he arraigned Craig A. Green, 37, of Summit Township on a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest and a summary charge of public drunkenness. He is accused of swearing and calling an officer a derogatory name. He is free on $3,000 bail.

Police said two Butler boys, ages 13 and 16, who were with Coleman, are also facing charges in Butler County Juvenile Court of terroristic threats, conspiracy to commit terroristic threats and disorderly conduct in connection with the same incident.

The investigation began when police got a call for a fight reportedly involving a gun. Police said witnesses told officers that Coleman was driving a Honda Civic and she tried to hit Green with it.“At some point,” police said, “Green ended up on the hood of the vehicle.”One of the accused boys who was with the woman reached into the car and pulled out a BB gun that resembled a Glock 9 mm pistol. He pointed the gun at Green and said, “I am going to pull the trigger,” according to charging documents.Both boys are suspected of punching Green. The relationship, if any, between Coleman and the boys was not immediately known.The car had damage to the front of it, and Green had dried blood on his face and hands, but it was not known if the vehicle hit him.
