A Slippery Rock Township man is facing felony assault and other charges for allegedly kicking a trooper stemming from an apparent domestic dispute last week at his home on Kiester Road

Robert A. Dubois, 31, also is accused of trying to spit on three troopers during the incident about 9:30 p.m. June 15. He was later taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unspecified injuries.

He is charged with aggravated assault, two counts of simple assault, and one count each of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

Police said when they arrived to answer the call they saw the defendant fighting with his 60-year-old father and 39-year-old sister. He allegedly bit both family members on the arm, causing “superficial wounds,” police said.

While being detained by two troopers, he kicked another one in the leg, which caused her to lose her balance, according to charging documents. He also allegedly attempted to spit on three of the troopers that were there.

There were no reported injuries to any of the troopers who responded to the call.

District Judge Bill O'Donnell on Tuesday issued an arrest warrant for Dubois, whose preliminary arraignment is pending.
