[naviga:h3]Dairy giveaway set in Emlenton[/naviga:h3]

EMLENTON, Venango County — Harvest Community Church of Kittanning, in conjunction with Marburger Dairy and the USDA Food & Drug Administration, will hand out free boxes of dairy products beginning at noon Tuesday at the Hughes Park Picnic Pavilion.

All distribution will be noncontact. Boxes will be loaded into vehicles. Distribution will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

[naviga:h3]Lowrie House will reopen Aug. 22[/naviga:h3]

The Sen. Walter Lowrie House, 123 W. Diamond St., will reopen Aug. 22 with tours of its redecorated rooms, a yard sale, games, music and food.

However, the Butler County Historical Society said its Little Red School House and the Cooper Cabin Pioneer Homestead will remain closed for the summer. Both sites are scheduled to reopen in 2021 with new exhibits in place.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the society announced its annual members meeting slated Friday has been canceled.
