[naviga:h3]Vigil set Wednesday in downtown Mars[/naviga:h3]

The Mars Area Ministerium will hold a vigil for racial justice beginning at noon Wednesday at the spaceship in Mars.

Active and retired clergy from the area will take turns leading the prayer during the vigil, to which law enforcement have been invited. Community members, regardless of religious affiliation, are invited and signs are permitted.

Organizers ask attendees to remain respectful, wear a mask and practice social distancing.

[naviga:h3]Fire department gun bash canceled[/naviga:h3]

The Big Knob Volunteer Fire Department 2020 gun bash, originally scheduled Aug. 8, is canceled.

Tickets purchased for this year’s event, to take place at the Big Knob station, 1229 Route 989 in Rochester, will be valid for next year. Next year’s gun bash is scheduled Aug. 14, 2021.
