Sunrise is reminder to rejoice, be glad

Pastor Ben Oesterling

“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24

There is so much uncertainty in our world today. We are consumed with the current health scare and the economic uncertainty that is stemming from it. Businesses are struggling to survive and people are losing jobs. Our leaders seem divided when they ought to be working together for a common goal.

Through all of this, we are not connecting with our family and friends like we used to and we just do not know what the future will hold.

These things are causing stress and anxiety for all of us, but as I got up this morning and saw the beautiful painting in the sky by the Creator of the Universe, it caused me to stop and refocus.

I was reminded, by this breath- taking atmospheric picture, that God is still in control.

Circumstances will come and go, but God will always be God.

His creation is a reminder of His power.

The beauty found in this sunrise is from heavenly brush strokes that no artist can replicate. This is a brand new day that He has given us.

It is a gift from Him. It is a day that He has made for his creation to enjoy.

I hope you will join me in rejoicing and being glad in it.

Thank you Lord for the gift of breath in my lungs this morning. Thank you for the blessing of another day of life.

Thank you for the beauty of your creation that reveals to us your power and your love for us. Thank you for your Son, Jesus, who died on the cross for my sins and has given me salvation through belief in Him.

Thank you for this life that I can still use for your glory today.

This is the day that you have made.

I will rejoice and be glad in it.
