The East Brady Area Development Corp. will not be sponsoring its annual spring events this year over coronavirus concerns.
These events include Attics & Cellars Day and the Chicken BBQ, both slated May 23, and Dumpster Day, that had been planned for June 6. The organization plans to have events in the fall if virus precautions are relaxed by then.
The organization noted the Artist Window in downtown East Brady has a new display for May, and artists are being sought for June and July. Beautification projects will start soon with planters at the Veterans Park and landscaping work and planting at the bridge and trailhead.
The Butler County Federated Library System announced that beginning May 18, all libraries in the system will reopen their outdoor book drops, so patrons can return currently checked-out materials.Due dates for items checked out between Feb. 1 and March 14 have been extended to June 15 and will be modified as needed.Late fees will not accrue on materials that were due during the closure period.All returned materials will undergo a quarantine period and might not immediately show they were returned on patron's accounts.Placing holds on items will be temporarily disabled.Patrons can check their local library's website and social media accounts to learn the library's timeline for restoring services.All are encouraged to continue using electronic resources through each library's e-resource page.Links to the BCFLS member libraries are available at www.bcfls.org.Updates and more information are available at www.butlerlibrary.info.
