KC students can pick up belongings
Junior and senior high school and elementary students in the Karns City Area School District will have the opportunity next week to pick up belongings left behind at school when the coronavirus pandemic abruptly canceled classes.
The district has set up days and a time frame for students to go to their school to gather things such as outerwear, personal school supplies, gym clothes, school projects and other items.
Following is the schedule (all collection times run from 8 a.m. to noon):
Monday, students last names beginning with A through I.
Tuesday, students with last names beginning with J through R.
Wednesday, students with last names beginning with S through Z.
Thursday, makeup date for anyone who could not fetch their belonging on the assigned days.
Students and their families are urged to place a sign on their vehicle’s dashboard that is visible from the outside and largely displays their full name(s) and grade(s) when they arrive. Students and their families are also urged to follow markers that will regulate traffic flow in the parking lot.
School employees will bring belongings to the vehicles.
The district is also making plans for students to drop off equipment, such as laptops, textbooks, athletic supplies and library books in June.
