State opens more interstate rest stops
The state Department of Transportation has announced it will reopen indoor facilities at three more rest areas.
All rest areas were closed on March 17 in response to Gov. Tom Wolf’s COVID-19 mitigation guidance.
Locations on Interstate 70 in Cumberland County near the Maryland state line and on Interstate 80 in Columbiana County near exit 22 and 10 miles west of exit 256 were reopened today.
Additional cleaning and maintenance will be performed at reopened rest areas. Tourism services remain unavailable at this time.
PennDOT has already reopened 32 indoor facilities at rest areas across the state. More will be reopened as appropriate.
