Teachers, first responders salute Cranberry, Seven Fields students
CRANBERRY TWP — About 100 teachers and first responders in the Seneca Valley School District stepped off on eight different parade routes Monday morning to visit students who attend Rowan and Haine elementary schools and Haine Middle School.
The parades happened simultaneously in neighborhoods throughout Cranberry Township and Seven Fields.
Joined by police, fire and ambulance workers, teachers lined up outside the Haine and Rowan school buildings in vehicles decorated with inspirational messages, paint, balloons and sparkles.
The parades shared a mission: to visit every student's neighborhood and as many streets as possible. Parade participants began driving through housing developments and communities in Cranberry Township and Seven Fields around 10:45 a.m.Families were invited to wave and display messages from their porches or front yards as parade vehicles drove by.In an effort to practice social distancing, the public was asked to not gather at bus stops or street corners during the events.
