April 20 — Police charged Matthew W. Moore, 29, of Butler with having drug contraband after officers were called to Alameda Park about 2:40 p.m. April 4 for a reported custody dispute at a birthday party. He is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

5:28 p.m. Sunday — A sport utility vehicle driven by a Venango County woman struck a deer on Route 8 just north of Northridge Lane in Center Township. Heather Z. Ordaz, 53, of Cooperstown was not hurt, but her vehicle had to be towed.
2:27 p.m. Sunday — John R. Lorenz, 82, of Butler was hurt when a pickup truck collided with his car at Herman Road and Osche Road in Summit Township. Lorenz was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. The other driver, Diane C. Collins, 44, of Butler, was not injured. Both vehicles were towed.
3:38 p.m. Saturday — William D. Schiebel, 52, of Chicora was injured when he lost control of his motorcycle and struck a tree along Route 68 just south of Shearer Road in Oakland Township. He refused transport to the hospital.
Police cited Schiebel, who was not wearing a helmet, for disregarding traffic lanes.
12:56 p.m. Saturday — Brake failure was blamed for a two-vehicle accident that injured a teenager in Muddy Creek Township. According to a police report, the crash happened on Route 488 at Miller Road when the braking system failed on a vehicle driven by Joel E. Kellar, 40, of Aliquippa, Beaver County.
The vehicle struck the other vehicle, driven by a 17-year-old Pittsburgh male, head-on at the intersection. Police did not release the name of the 17-year-old, who suffered an apparent minor injury. Both vehicles had to be towed.
Saturday — A 67-year-old Butler area man reported that his handgun, valued at $700, was stolen between Jan. 1 and Feb. 1 from an unknown location. He said he had left the .380 caliber pistol, a silver, Sig Sauer P238 with a walnut grip, in his vehicle’s glovebox.
Also stolen, he reported, was a magazine loaded with five rounds, a Crimson Trace laser sight and a black pocket holster.
3:35 a.m. April 7 — Michael L. Kradel II, 19, of Saxonburg was arrested for drugged driving after he crashed his car into a ditch on O’Hara Road in Jefferson Township. Police said he was out of his car when they got there, and they found him with suspected marijuana.
Later, Kradel was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test that showed he had marijuana in his system. He is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, and possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Additionally, he is charged with driving with a suspended license, driving without a license, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving a vehicle without insurance, failing to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes, driving too fast for conditions and careless driving.
