[naviga:h3]Armstrong service interrupted Wed.[/naviga:h3]

Armstrong Cable reported Wednesday that the company experienced an interruption in service throughout the area.

A representative from the company responded via email late Wednesday afternoon, explaining that the “outage impacting thousands of customers in Butler and Lawrence Counties occurred between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.”

According to the email, the company experienced a failure of a network component, which resulted in the outage. Compounding the problem, backup equipment that was in place did not work as planned.

All subscribers services were restored by 4 p.m.

[naviga:h3]AAA announces new president[/naviga:h3]

The AAA East Central region announced the appointment of its first female president, Teresa “Terri” Petrick, in the club’s 117-year history.

The AAA East Central has 78 local offices in Pennsylvania, Kentucky, New York, Ohio and West Virginia.

Petrick served as senior vice president at AAA East Central and spent more than 30 years in health care at various UPMC hospitals in the Pittsburgh area before hiring on in 2013.

Petrick earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s degree in public management from Carnegie Mellon University.

[naviga:h3]State credit union helps food banks[/naviga:h3]

The Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union will donate $25,000 to Feeding Pennsylvania to support the state’s food banks as they face increased demand as a result of COVID-19.

A part of the funding will go to the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank, which supplies food to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank on North Monroe Street and other county food banks.
