Police charge 2 men with vandalizing Kingdom Hall
Two men are accused of vandalizing a Center Township worship site last month.
State police Monday charged Robert Walsh, 34, of Center Township, and Joseph R. Tulick, 32, of Pittsburgh, with driving a vehicle through the lawn March 5 at the Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall on Unionville Road.
The suspects also allegedly urinated in the parking lot and pulled shrubbery. Additionally, police said Walsh tried to rip a sign off a door and Tulick allowed beer cans to fall from the vehicle onto the church property.
Police estimated the damage at $1,000.
During the investigation, police said they obtained video surveillance and photographs of two people vandalizing the church. Authorities identified a pickup truck from the footage as belonging to Walsh.
Police went to Walsh's home March 8, according to charging documents, and he “confessed” to the crimes. He also allegedly identified Tulick.
Both defendants are charged with institutional vandalism, a misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, both summaries. Additionally, Walsh is charged with criminal mischief, a misdemeanor, and Tulick is charged with scattering rubbish, a summary.
Online court records did not indicate if either defendant has an attorney. Walsh declined comment Tuesday and Tulick could not be reached.
