Citizens Bank joins PA CARE Package

Citizens Bank has joined the PA CARE Package, a Pennsylvania consumer relief initiative.

Attorney General Josh Shapiro said the package is meant to ensure that Pennsylvania consumers impacted by the coronavirus pandemic are eligible for additional economic relief.

The package aims at loosening financial obligations with banks, including 90-day grace period for mortgages, and consumer loans such as auto loans.

Additionally, it calls for a temporary suspension of foreclosures, eviction, or motor vehicle repossession moratorium for 60 days.

It is a partnership between banks and financial institutions and the state Office of the Attorney General’s Bureau of Consumer Protection.

Under the PA CARE Package initiative, banks and financial institutions are working with the Office’s Bureau of Consumer Protection to both comply with the recently passed CARES Act and offer additional protections for consumers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
