Low-income energy grants still available
Peoples Natural Gas is reminding residents that there is still time to apply for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program. The federally funded program, administered by the state Department of Human Services, gives a one-time grant, ranging from $200 to $1,000 to utility customers needing help with their heating bills. Applications will be accepted until April 12. The income eligibility limit for this year is 150 percent of the federal poverty income. Individuals with an annual income of up to $18,735 and families of four with an income up to $38,625 would be eligible for the grant.
Peoples encourages customers to apply at www.compass.state.pa.us.
